David Bradshaw is exhibiting his fantastic sculptural work at two galleries in Cornwall, this Autumn. David's sculpture really must be experienced 'in the flesh', so please take time to visit. More Than Art in Saltash, and the Lime Kiln Gallery in Calstock are displaying David's work, along with pieces by many more local, Cornish artists. |

Slippery's great friend, Rebecca Kaye, is opening up her new holistic shop and healing centre in St Martin's Walk, Dorking, on Saturday 17th October, 2009. Slippery's wish her all the best of luck. In Rebecca's words; Times are tough. It may seem crazy to attempt to open a new shop in a struggling market town during the current recession, but that's exactly what I'm doing!. A long term resident of Dorking, I'm a Holistic Therapist who has come up with a new way of working to encourage economic regeneration and an increase in community spirit. On the ground floor of Lotions and Potions, I am committed to retailing high quality, organic, Fair Traded and locally produced health and well-being products. Situated upstairs is Skye Healing - with an array of Alternative Therapy treatments and services offered from experienced professionals amidst a beautiful healing environment. Specialised massage treatments, Reflexology, Counselling, Herbal and Nutritional advice and Homeopathy are just a few of the services that will be available to encourage health and vitality. The twist is that I intend to make this a 'community' healing centre. By sourcing funding, the opportunity will be created to offer those without the money, a chance to heal. Specialised Health Programmes will be offered to enable community development in the areas of Learning Difficulties, Youth Opportunity and Career Retraining. In addition, local and national charities (Born Free amongst them) will receive donations from products and treatments sold. |

Slippery Jacks is proud to introduce this new product category. Here you will find a stunningly beautiful range of diaries and calendars. We have, in some small way, contributed to many of these. In particular, Slippery Jacks have worked hard to help create the wonderful Earth Pathways Diary 2010, as founder members of the Moonshare Cooperative. |

Contributors included Nicholas Down, Tiana, Dave Bradshaw, Farida Kahn-Evans, Andy Treepirate, Erica Hemming, Anne McEntire, Sam Lauren Smith, Victoria Lovell and Sophy Holden. |

Celebrated sculptor, Karen Mander will be joining us on the new Slipperys site with her wonderful Earth Goddesses of the Wheel of the Year. The Slippery Jacks web site is under reconstruction and will be able to accommodate much more than before. With its arrival in the Summer, we will be honoured to have Karen Mander join the Slipperys band. Her Goddess centred work is truly stunning; each Goddess speaking with Her own voice through each piece. Karen writes: As a sculptor, celebrating and exploring the sacred feminine has been a part of my work for years and I am never far away from making another Goddess! In my art work, and on my personal journey, I have also been inspired and supported by the cycles of the Wheel of the Year, and Medicine Wheels, and have sat in many circles where I have felt the ancestral calling of this timeless way of being and working with others. During summer 2006 these themes came together in a wish to explore the Goddesses of the Wheel of the Year. I started to make each Goddess at the time of year she represents - a process that is taking two cycles to complete - and now seven are finished. The eighth will complete the circle this summer. I live and work in Devon and these Goddesses draw on Celtic and Pre-Celtic myth and imagery although I have wanted to cross cultural boundaries by conveying something of the essence of these archetypes and the time of year they represent. Crafting these little figures has also been a personal journey of connection with the stages of life - and of my own ageing - with all the celebration, challenges and lessons that awareness of our own mortality brings. Earth Goddesses of the Wheel of the Year are handmade in natural materials and are individually finished. They have a high earth and mineral content including iron which gives a distinctive 'freckled' look. This makes each one unique, with pieces varying from a light terracotta slightly mottled look to a darker speckling. They are intended for indoors - pieces put outside become rusty! They measure 10-11cm high and are all seated figures that can sit in counsel, in the circle of the year or in smaller groups such as Maiden, Mother, Crone. The figures available to date are: |

Welcome to Erica Hemming, who joined Slippery Jacks recently. Erica's work is sensational, full of energy, it positively vibrates. |
Slippery Jacks publishing arm has now opened. In addition to the wonderfully talented artists we have supported over the last few years, some of whom have had great success, we want to extend our offering to people who have a story to tell in written form. Our aim is to open up the world of print to people who would be rejected for a lack of vision. Slippery Jacks has that vision and we want to help you get your message across. Please contact us, email only. |

Eyrn's Mermaids has begun to weave its simple magic. This small book, written in simple language has already made an impact. This short text is therapy in written form. There is no violence and no cruelty just unconditional love that flows through the pages. Click here to read more about it. |

Slippery Jacks will be at the New Age festival in Perranporth (23rd to 25th November) so come and visit the stand. This event is utterly magical. It is a vibrant and colourful experience that has the capacity to change lives, and I know because it changed mine. Once again Bo and Carolyn will breathe life, love and laughter into the event and their welcome extends to everyone. |
Tiana is now creating stunning commission only sculptural designs which are truly breathtaking. |
Slippery Jacks is delighted to welcome three new artists, Leanna Milward, Jan Fowler and Holly. These artists have enriched our site immesurably with their stunning contributions. Leanna with her love of horses shows us the gentle wisdom of these wonderful creatures, Jan celebrates the feminine with her exploration of womanhood and finding the Goddess within. Holly offers a vision of life given freely by nature, their nurturing gifted to us on this beautiful planet. Don't just enjoy their work, support them with your patronage. |

Come to the New Age festival in Perranporth (24th to 27th November) and visit Tiana's stand. This fantastic event, the brain child of Bo and Carolyn, is a wonderful celebration of all things spiritual. No snow this year and a brilliant event awaits you. |
Slippery Jacks and Tiana will be at the spectacular Goddess festival in Glastonbury (2nd to 6th August). Celebrating the Great Mother we will feature the gorgeous artwork from Tiana and also a new range of stunning jewellery from local jeweller Julian. |
The amazingly talented Neil H has done it again, creating his new CD Sacred Gift. This aptly named work is a truly magical experience of love and light. The artwork for this CD was created by Tiana. |
Excellent news for Slippery Jacks artist Siani Driver. She has been asked, by Peter King, to design a chakra series for his new charka balancing CD. We hope the collaboration works out well and look forward to featuring the results. |
Welcome to Siani Driver who joins the Slippery team at the start of 2006. This artist is intensely spiritual and deeply aware of human frailty and humility. She attributes this to her life on the wild and beautiful Orkney Islands where natures hand is joined with the Islanders in a tacit agreement. Humour and a joy for life manifest in her work all wrapped in a rich Celtic tapestry. |

The Slippery team are back from the Cornwall New Age Conference, and a splendid time was had by all. Once again, Bo and Carolyn Bowyer put life and soul into creating a magical event that was a true honour to be part of. Despite a wee bit of snow, and some creative journalism, vistors who ventured out were assured of a wonderful time. Again, the gift of friendships renewed, and new friendships made, have enriched lives beyond measure. Superb performances were given by Dragonfly Moon, Nigel Shaw & Carolyn Hillyer, Stormwolf, the Daughters of Gaia and Stephen Page, among many others. Add to this vibrant spectacle, demostrations of Belly Dancing (yes, we joined in), Tai Chi and Yoga, what a treat! Our love and thanks go to each and every performer for the unique gifts they brought to the event. Special thanks go, of course, to Bo and Carolyn for enabling this event to take place and for letting Slippery's to join in. Also to Barbara Meiklejohn Free for her unreserved support and encouragement; to the angelic Debbie Clayton and Karen Kay for their radiant light, and to the effervescent Duchy Healers. Our love goes out to all the wonderful people that we met; in particular the Keeper of Bees and Lover of Trees (remember - fairy dust lasts forever) and to the wonderful couple who will one day open the Rainbow Valley Healing Centre for Animals, Blessed Be. Thank you to all the staff at the Ponsmere Hotel, for keeping us fed and watered. The event would have been nothing without your help. Finally our deepest love and affection must go to Wendy from the Screech Owl Sanctuary, who's unreserved love and understanding for her birds was not only humbling but infectious. Thank you. |
Well, he's not an artist, nor a fully fledged member of the Slippery's team, but Woodie joined our family courtesy of Wendy at the Screech Owl Sanctuary. This Ashy-faced Barn Owl, who decided to stay at the sanctuary, is one of only 40 remaining in the World. The Sanctuary are trying to raise a mere £9,000 to start a satelite breeding programme. So folks, if you are looking for a gift, make it the gift of life for a rare and beautiful species. Dig out that tenner that you would have spent on the High Street, and invest it in the future of your planet. |
Well, all we can say is wow! The 10th anniversary Goddess Conference in Glastonbury was absolutely amazing. Slippery's accompanied Tiana to the event and were completely blown away by the warmth of the reception. It was an honour to be involved and a privilege to work alongside so many wonderful people. Our thanks go, in particular, to Tyna Redpath for making it possible for us to join in. Traders from all over the world came together to support this marvellous event. In addition to the wonderful artwork from Tiana, we had spangles, jangles and mystical treasures from Egypt which prompted a raft of women to take up belly dancing one day. De godin in jezelf from the Netherlands brought unique, fairytale gowns capable of transforming women of all sizes. The fantastic mother and daughter team inspired all women with their mantra 'find the beauty inside yourself and love it'. Artist Wendy Andrew also showed her stunning work. Her paintings 'inspired by mythology, the faerie realms and the natural world' are truly beautiful. |
Look out for 'Tides' by DragonFly Moon. Scott Jasper and Susan Garlick have just released their fantastic new album. Scott and Susan call it a 'heady mix of contemporary song writing, shamanic insight and the spirit of acoustic world instruments. An inspired & unique creation of powerful songs & chants celebrating the natural ebb & flow of life and the beauty & mystery of the British Land & beyond.' Their earth inspired work captures the magic and emotion of life with drum, flutes, didgeridoo and impassioned vocals. See them live for a truly life changing experience. Try Earth Dreamers, Scott's debut album. To me, this musical collection is utterly amazing. They describe it as 'combining energetic rhythms & earth-inspired songs, heartfelt vocals, flutes, guitar, percussion & didgeridoo with the emotive power of the drum (mainly frame drums & djembes). This evocative & original music is about accessing and celebrating the magic of the land'. |
